Instead of focusing on discarding items, you choose possessions that align with your current self and future aspirations. This transformative process often leads to a renewed sense of self and clarity in life goals.
How long does the process take?
The duration of a Tidying Festival varies based on factors such as home size, commitment level, and scheduling. It can range from as little as two uninterrupted weeks to up to six months with regular sessions and self-assigned tasks. Completing the process within a year is recommended to maintain momentum and achieve realistic goals. Throughout this journey, you’ll reconnect with your belongings and, ultimately, with yourself.
Can I hire you to organize just one room?
Unlike traditional organizing methods that focus on specific rooms, the KonMari Method® organizes by category. This approach allows you to assess all items you actually own within a category, ensuring you keep only those that truly support your envisioned lifestyle.
Does my whole family need to participate in the Tidying Festival?
Tidying is a personal journey best undertaken individually. Each person should make decisions regarding their own belongings. However, couples and families can work through categories together, especially when joint decisions are required.
I’m moving. Should I complete my Tidying Festival before or after the move?
Ideally, conducting a Tidying Festival before moving is beneficial. By envisioning your future home and lifestyle, you can determine which items to bring along, potentially saving on moving costs and effort. If you’ve already moved, now is an excellent time to organize your new space to align with your ideal life.
